I was recently send the dvd Princess and the Pop Star from Veggie Tales. Who doesn’t love the Veggie Tales? They are just so cute, funny and the songs are so catchy. Plus you know as a parent the message will be one you want your kids to remember! Here is a synopsis of what this latest adventure is about:
Princess Poppyseed’s life on her family’s farm is far from the glamorous but lonely world of her favorite pop singer Vanna Banana. On a chance meeting at a playground, Vanna and Princess cross paths and realize that they look almost exactly alike—which leads to the crazy secret plan where they decide to switch lives! As each girl realizes that the life they longed for doesn’t fulfill all of their dreams, they learn that the life God gave them is the one for which they were uniquely and lovingly designed.

My girls both thought this movie lived up to some of their other favorite Veggie Tales adventures. This one is one of trading places and learning to appreciate the life you have given and realize that God doesn’t make mistakes.

My favorite thing was taking my daughter to Disney for the first time. She had an amazing time and I don’t think she will ever forget it.
We live in southern Utah (very hot), and every July we head up in the mountains for a family reunion for a week. It’s always nice to put on jeans and sweatshirts and sit around a campfire with friends and family!
We went to gettysburg.

My family and I went to Florida to visit my sister and my newborn niece. She wad born with anemia and ended up needing a blood transfusion but she is all better now (:

Going to the beach swimming was so much fun!
We didn’t do anything this summer. We wait until the heat and tourists are gone to have our fun. We homeschool, so we can be as flexible as we want. We will be going down the road to spend five days in the Disney World resort in October.
We went to a water park for my six year old’s birthday.
Being able to go out and explore new places that we haven’t been to before.
We explored things close to home and spent a weekend at Great Wolf Lodge….so many fun memories!
Our favorite thing we have done this summer is hang out together as a family. We are a large family on a small budget this year so we have been finding creative ways to have fun at home!
The two best things our family has gotten to do are these: We took our 5 week old son on his first hike to Lena Lake and then got to go camping 4 weeks later near the beautiful Lake Pend Orielle in Idaho. Such good, quality family time – its been a blast and I hope to continue spending time outdoors, enjoying what God has created for us!

I love watching the Veggie Tales movies! Our family has had a wonderful summer. We were able to go to Utah for 2 weeks and visit some major national parks including Bryce Canyon, Arches, and Canyonlands! We also took a day trip up to Sequim, WA and went to the Olympic Game Farm Park….if you haven’t been there, it is a must!
I love veggietales!! We’ve been camping a lot this summer, I love being out in the sunshine!

Our favorite thing we’ve done this summer is our annual family roadtrip to see my Aunt and Uncle who host a Cancer Walk in honor of my grandpa every June and then we head 2 hours East to visit my Mother-in-Law at her lakehouse in Michigan for a week–it always kicks off our summer and brings a welcome relief to the heat in HOTlanta!

we spent some time at my sister in laws house on the lake, the kids had alot of fun swimming, kayaking, and riding the sea-doo!
We went to the beach for a few days and watched our youngest experience the ocean for the first time. It was so nice to just get away from all the to-do’s of home for a few days!

We just wrapped up a double wedding weekend- my two brothers both got married on the same day. It worked, was alot of fun and I got to see far away family that I havn’t seen for a while
Traveling. We have been on the go, but the best was spending a weekend at a friends cabin on the lake in Minnesota. The kids would say a week vaca with the grandparents.
Fun got put on hold for a bit as we moved to the Everett area from Portland due to my husband’s new job. We’re hoping that we’ll find new parks and fun in our new town.

We just got home from a FANTASTIC weekend camping with a whole herd of families from our church…27 kids and 18 adults. What a hoot!

My favorite family event this summer was driving down from Alaska thru Canada to Washington. Visiting Canada was a great, fun, new experience!

We took our boys to a museum this summer that a dinosaur walking path. They absolutely enjoyed getting up close to these giant creatures. Definitely something they will never forget.
I went horseback riding for the first time with my 11 year old stepdaughter and my husband. It was fantastic!

My two girls Lucy and Lola and I were able to visit an amusement park that I use to go to as a kid. I use to go every summer with my dad who is now passed away, so it was extra special for me to take them there. It felt like life went full circle!

Watching my kids learn to swim. My daughter began to swim in the deep end and my son began to swim without arm floats! Yay!!!

We have visited all the Zoo’s in Ohio to see the animals. My daughter is only one but she loved to point out all the “Kitties” to us and make the elephant noise at the elephants. So cute!
No vacations but going to thsi little German repoduction with stores called Alpine Village. The grandbabies went also and we took money so they could ride the little horse rides which they liked so much. Just a fun little outting.

We built our son a playset in the backyard. He fondly calls it his ‘castle’ and has asked to eat lunch in there every day!

One of the most amazing things we did this summer was take a family vacation to San Marcos. My family enjoyed the seclusion that the Wimberley, Texas area has to offer. Just spending time with my two children was the most important thing of all.

My family and I went to Williamsburg, Va this summer. We spent our days at Buscg Gardens, the water park, and Colonial Williamsburg. It was great to be able to have non stop fun with my kids for a whole week.
My favorite thing that I’ve done this summer with my two darlings is have “camp-out” in Mom’s room nights. Blankies, lots of pillows, popcorn (of course!) and a great family movie are on the agenda- the kids love spending special time with me and it feels like camping out- minus the bug spray and sunburns!
We went camping with the grandparents and it was great! My 9 yr old and I really bonded. And the teenagers were not on anything electronic for a whole week! I love my parents and don’t get to see them enough!

Our favorite family thing we did this Summer was going to Marengo Cave. It was absolutely beautiful and the enitre family had such a special time seeing how water and time etc created something so stunning
My family spent a long weekend in Atlanta at the Loews Hotel and got to spend time in the rooftop pool thanks to a friend who lives in the condos upstairs.
The best thing I did this summer was teach my daughter how to swim. I love watching her achieve her goals and be so proud of herself! She would love this DVD cause she is a “princess”

First family trip to the carnival!
My family of 8 loved planning a lot of free activities over the summer that included… going to the lake, free bowling for the kids, summer reading programs, and do it yourself kids workshops. I hope I have taught them they can have fun, and still be wise with their money.

my favorite thing that we did this summer was the farewell party for my sister and her family. it was just a normal bbq with spriklers and treats and friends and family, but its my favorite because every second was savored. i have 2 sisters and 2 brothers i am the oldest and there are 10 nieces and nephews all together all under 11years of age. my brother in law is a marine and they moved to japan for 3years. we are so heartbroken. so it is odd that one of the saddest days for all of us is my favorite this summer but its the most charished because i remember each laugh and each joke, each tear, each hug from the kids who did not want to let go. and not the saddness but the fun we had all day. and the fun and joy we will have when God returns them home safely.
We got to go to the Grand Canyon.
Best part of summer for sure was getting to Seattle. We live in Illinois with seven of our nine kids. My parents, siblings (along with their spouses and kids) are all on the west coast. My dad has pretty advanced Alzheimer’s and it was so so wonderful to take three of the kids to go see him! My 12 year old Grace (who we refer to as my dad’s soulmate!) was especially thrilled to spend time with a man she respects and loves so much. Probably will be the last visit where he recognizes the kids. Totally blessed!!
