My tweens latest passion – Drawing books

I thought since I did a post earlier today about my 12 year old daughter’s favorite books she has read this year I would also include these books as they may not be reader type books these are the books she is saving her pennies for. She has a passion for drawing and especially the Japanese style cartoons. She devours these books and all the tips they give her. I am able to sometimes find them at Michaels or JoAnns and use my coupon from the Sunday ad. But sometimes there are specific books she finds and Amazon seems to be my best bet to good a deal on these books for.

Here are her favorites:

Manga for the Beginner: Everything you Need to Start Drawing Right Away! $14.78

Drawing Manga Animals, Chibis, and Other Adorable Creatures $14.95

Draw Manga: How to Draw Manga In Your Own Unique Style $12.21

These prices are all current on Amazon on 3/19

I have also found that the cheapest drawing pads are actually the Crayola ones. I do get these at Michaels with the coupons you find in the Sunday newspaper. She prefers the ones that are spiral bound as the others seem to have pages that pop out on you.

Do you have a little budding artist in your house? What kind of books/supplies do they like?

My girl enjoys this too! For Christmas, I made her a bound book of blank comic book pages. It was my first attempt at binding, so the end result wasn’t perfect, but she has a lot of fun with it. Crayola drawing markers are another favorite here. They’re less expensive than Sharpies and easier to clean up too. We have plenty of art supplies on hand, but we usually go for low price over professional quality. Love to see kids exploring their artistic sides. And love the blog, Abby!
